Driver Intervention Program (DIP) Rules and Guidelines
All participants are required to comply with the following rules and guidelines. Failure to do so may result in dismissal from the program at the discretion of program staff.
Program Conduct and Compliance
A.W.A.K.E. LLC is a strictly alcohol- and drug-free program.
Possession or use of alcohol, illegal substances, or drug paraphernalia is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate discharge based on staff’s reasonable suspicion.All participants are expected to:
Conduct themselves in a respectful and appropriate manner
Follow all instructions provided by program staff
Participate fully in all scheduled sessions and activities
Arrive on time and remain present for the entire program
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is mandatory for all participants.
Participants may not disclose:
The identity of other participants
Any personal information shared during sessions
The nature or purpose of the program to others, including hotel guests
Photography, video recording, or sharing information about participants is strictly prohibited.
Any violation of confidentiality will result in immediate dismissal.
Search and Safety Policies
All personal property is subject to search at any time.
Any prohibited items (contraband) will be confiscated.
The following behaviors will result in immediate discharge and possible legal action:
Violence or threats toward staff or participants
Possession of weapons
Any action that compromises the safety or welfare of others
Harassment and Conduct
Sexual harassment or any form of sexual contact with participants, staff, or others is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate discharge.
Any behavior that compromises the integrity or structure of the program may result in dismissal.
Program Environment Rules
Participants must remain on-site at all times unless otherwise directed by staff.
No visitors are permitted during the program.
Participants may not enter other rooms except those assigned to them.
Staff will conduct routine room checks.
Personal Responsibility
Participants must be appropriately dressed at all times. Clothing that is revealing, promotes drug/alcohol use, or is deemed inappropriate by staff is not permitted.
Rooms must be kept secure.
A.W.A.K.E. LLC and the hotel are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Medication Policy
All medications must be in their original prescription bottles with the participant’s name clearly displayed.
Participants should bring only the amount of medication necessary for the duration of the program.
Medications must not be stored in pill organizers, daily planners, or any non-original containers.
All medications will be secured as required by program policy and returned to the participant at the conclusion of the program.
Participants who possess a valid medical marijuana card must provide documentation at check-in.
Only THC gummies are permitted.
All other forms of cannabis or THC products are strictly prohibited.
Nicotine Policy
Cigarettes and vape devices must be:
In their original packaging
Unopened and sealed upon arrival
Only sealed vape devices are permitted.
Electronics Policy
Cell phones are permitted but may not be used during:
Group sessions
Educational presentations
If phone use becomes disruptive, staff may collect devices and return them during designated break times.
Transportation and Licensing
Participants must not drive to the program if their driver’s license is suspended.
Vehicle keys will be collected upon arrival and returned at discharge.
Court and Referral Information
Participants are required to provide complete and accurate information for:
Court
Probation officer
Attorney (if applicable)
This information must be submitted no later than the Friday of the program weekend.
Facility Use
Use of hotel amenities such as the swimming pool and exercise facilities is prohibited.
Dismissal and Refund Policy
Participants dismissed for any rule violation:
Will not receive a refund
Will have their referral source notified, including the reason for discharge
